Inspired Daedric Bow
Using in-game screenshots I took myself as references and guides, I made a bow that takes heavy inspiration from the Daedric Bow of Bethesda's Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim. The entire project took around 90 hours to complete. Using Autodesk Maya, the process began with basic blockouts. The blockouts were then continually refined to have more and more detail until the desired shape and aesthetic was acquired. When it came time to texture, I experimented with learning Substance Painter to create more elaborate textures. This lengthened the total time to complete the model, but the end result was certainly worth it. In addition to the usual texture maps, I used emissive and normal maps to create depth and glow to the bow; making it feel more "alive". It also features some custom normal stamps that create red engravings on the bow.
