Purpose

Orthographic Map
This level was designed for an assignment in a Level Design course at Purdue University. Utilizing an FPS template provided to us, we were to design, Whitebox, script, and kitbash a level with engaging combat scenarios and supplementary level design features. Minor changes and adaptations were made in the Unreal build to the original Orthographic map and Paper Design Document.

Layout

  • ​3 areas of combat: shipping container storage, control room, main deck​
  • Setting: Shipping Freighter/Canal

​Goal: Influence players intuitive behavior to guide pathing using architectural prospect and refuge
Prospect: Potential Danger Area
Refuge: Space shielded from view/danger that allows player to view prospect area

  • Secondary- Next possible refuge visible to player
